A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "CITY OF MIAMI PROGRAMS FOR
PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES A.D.A. GRANT RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
AND EQUIPMENT," AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $104,630, CONSISTING OF A GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF
$52,315, RECEIVED FROM THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, OFFICE OF
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COORDINATION 2006-2007 GRANT
FUND AND THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED CASH MATCH OF AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $52,315; ALLOCATING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED
MATCHING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $37,315, FROM THE
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION SURPLUS ACCOUNT, PROJECT
29-119002, AWARD NO. 1281, ORGANIZATION 291001 AND AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $15,000, FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
CONSOLIDATED ACCOUNT, PROJECT 29-116002, AWARD 1179,
ORGANIZATION 291001, ALREADY EXPENSED FOR GRANT APPROVED
PROGRAMMING; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID
GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO
IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT AWARD.
WHEREAS, Section 316.1967 of the Florida Statutes and Section 30-447 of the Code of
Miami -Dade County ("County"), Florida, authorizes fines to be charged for the misuse of specially
marked parking spaces for people with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, revenues from said fines shall be distributed by the County in accordance with the
provisions of Section 30-447 of the County Code; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the fine revenue distribution pattern, the County awarded the City of
Miami ("City"), Department of Parks and Recreation, Program for Persons with Disabilities, a grant in
the amount of $52,315, from 2006-2007 program funds, to assist in funding new recreational programs
and equipment for persons with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the County's Americans with Disabilities Act ("A.D.A.") grant, in an amount of $52,315,
requires the provision of a dollar for dollar cash match available from the Department of Parks and
Recreation Surplus Account, Project 29-119002, Award No. 1281, Organization 291001 and from the
Department of Parks and Recreation Consolidated Account Project 29-116002, Award 1179,
Organization 291001, for a total amount of $104,630;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:

Section 3. The City's required matching funds, in the amount not to exceed $37,315, are allocated
from the Department of Parks and Recreation Surplus Account, Project 29-119002, Award No. 1281.,
Organization 291001, and in the amount not to exceed $15,000, from the Department of Parks and
Recreation Consolidated Account Project 29-116002, Organization 291001, for a total amount not to
exceed $52,315, already expensed for grant approved programming.
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept said grant award and to execute the
necessary documents, to implement acceptance of said grant award.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
