JUSTIFICATION:
The Gang Resistance Education and Traning Program (GREAT) provides anti -gang education
and trains youngsters to avoid gang involvement & violence, how to deal with peer-,resre,
conflict resolution and being responsible. The department has trained several thousaid sgbol'

This grant requires matching funds in the amount of $26,949.00 which will be provided by in -
kind services. The Justice Department requires that we accept this grant award within 45 days or
risk deobligation of the funds. Additionally, the goal of this grant is to teach the GREAT
program to 1,080 children.
