Subject: A Resolution of the Miami City Commission declaring No Objection' and supporting Senate
Bill 138, designating transportation facilities (roadways) located within the City of Miami limits.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution declaring no objection and supporting Senate Bill 138, as passed by the Florida Senate,
designating transportation facilities (roadways) located within the City of Miami limits. All roadways
are state roads.
A total of eleven (11) designations are being proposed by Senate Bill 138.
Background Information:
The Legislature made several honorary designations of roads located in the City of Miami, through
Senate Bill 138. Florida Statute 334.071, Legislative designation of transportation facilities, states
that erection of markers shall be contingent upon the appropriate city or county commission passing a
resolution in support of the particular honorary designation. As such, the City has prepared this
resolution to support the roadway designations.
