A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
DECLARING NO OBJECTION AND SUPPORTING THE CODESIGNATION BY
THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE DESIGNATING TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES
("ROADWAYS") LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI, PURSUANT TO
SENATE BILL 138; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT
THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS
RESOLUTION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
DISTRICT SIX, FOR SIGN INSTALLATION WITHIN THE NEWLY DESIGNATED
ROADWAYS.
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 334.071, entitled "Legislative designation of transportation facilities,"
states that erection of markers shall be contingent upon the appropriate city or county commission
passing a resolution in support of the particular honorary designation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the request made by the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT")
for honorary designation of roads located in the City of Miami ("City"), the Miami City Commission has
no objections and supports Senate Bill 138; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 138, adopted by the Florida Legislature, designated state transportation
facilities ("roadways") that are located within the City as follows:
Coral Way between Southwest 31st Avenue and Southwest 25th Street to Marilyn Culp Way;
Flagler Street between Northwest 72nd Avenue and Northwest 67th Avenue to Arnold M. Velazquez
Boulevard;
Corner of West Flagler Street/ SR 968 and Le Jeune Road/ SR 953 to Aristides Sastre Corner;
Southwest 27th Avenue between Coral Way and Southwest 8th Street to Luis Conte Aguero Way;
Southwest 8th Street between Southwest 67th Avenue and Southwest 72nd Avenue to Dr. Vicente
Grau-Imperatori;
Northwest 2nd Terrace between Northwest 37th Avenue and Northwest 38th Court to Fred Havenick
Way;
Northwest 7th Street between Northwest 37th Avenue and Northwest 38th Court to Isadore Hecht
Street;
Northwest 21st Avenue between Northwest 20th Street and Northwest 23rd Street to Dennis Pastrana
Avenue;

Southwest 12th Avenue between Coral Way and Southwest 8th Street to Angel Manuel De La Portilla
Way;
US 1/SR 5 between Northeast 54th Street and Northeast 96th Street to Athalie Range Boulevard;
Brickell Avenue within the boundaries of the City between Southeast 25th Street and the south
shoreline of the Miami River to a State Historic Road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Miami City Commission declares no objection and supports the codesignation by
the Florida Legislature designating roadways located within the City, pursuant to Senate Bill 138.
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to,instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a copy
of this Resolution to FDOT, District Six, for sign installation within the newly designated roadways.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
