HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-07-0502City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-07-0502 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 07-01076 Final Action Date: 9/11/2007 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING BENEFITS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007, FOR PRESIDENT/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ELAINE BLACK, AS FIXED BY THE LIBERTY CITY COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION TRUST. WHEREAS, the Liberty City Community Revitalization Trust ("Liberty City Trust") is responsible for the oversight of and shall facilitate, the City of Miami's ("City's") revitalization effort for the redevelopment of the Liberty/Model City area; and WHEREAS, Elaine Black was appointed on May 15, 2006, by the Model City Trust Board of Directors as President/Chief Executive Officer of the Model City Trust with salary and other compensation such as car and cellular phone allowances for Fiscal Year 2006-2007, however, benefits were not included and approved under the terms and conditions of her employment; and WHEREAS, the Liberty City Trust, created by City Ordinance No. 12859 on October 12, 2006, and Elaine Black was approved by the City Commission on June 22, 2006 to serve as President/Chief Executive Officer of the Liberty City Trust; and WHEREAS, Article I, Division 2, § 12.5-31 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, provides that the president/chief executive officer shall receive such salary and benefits as shall be fixed by the Liberty City Trust and approved by the Miami City Commission; and WHEREAS, Elaine Black has received such salary for Fiscal Year 2006-2007 as fixed by the Liberty City Trust and approved by the Miami City Commission but Elaine Black has not received benefits for Fiscal Year 2006-2007 as fixed by the Liberty City Trust and approved by the Miami City Commission; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Liberty City Trust by Resolution No. 07-003 has fixed the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 benefits for Elaine Black as outlined in Attachment "A;" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The benefits for Fiscal Year 2006-2007, for President/Chief Executive Officer, Elaine Black, as fixed by the Liberty City Trust, are approved. Section 3.
