A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
TRANSFERRING THE BALANCE OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,175, PREVIOUSLY ALLOCATED TO
CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF MIAMI, INC. /CENTRO
MATER CHILD CARE CENTER; ASSIGNING SAID FUNDS TO CENTRO MATER
CHILD CARE SERVICES, INC., TO BE USED FOR THE PROVISION OF CHILD
CARE SERVICES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH CENTRO
MATER CHILD CARE SERVICES, INC., FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0373, adopted June 8, 2006, the City Commission
approved the allocation of $50,000, of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds to
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc./ Centro Mater Childcare Center for the provision of
child care services; and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 2007, the Board of Directors of Centro Mater Child Care Services, Inc.
approved corporate resolutions to accept the oversight of Centro Mater programs and approved the
assumption of management responsibilities by Catholic Health Services, Inc. and to enter into a
contract under the new management with the City of Miami, to be effective July 1, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the transfer of the balance of CDBG funds, in the
amount of $11,175, previously allocated to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc./Centro
Mater Childcare Center and the assignment of said funds to the Centro Mater Child Care Services,
Inc., to be used for the provision of child care services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of the balance of CDBG funds, in the amount of $11,175, previously
allocated to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Inc. /Centro Mater Childcare Center, and
the assignment of said funds to Centro Mater Child Care Services, Inc., to be used for the provision of
child care services, is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, with Centro Mater Child Care Services, Inc., for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
