Grindell, Director Public Works Department DATE: SUBJECT: REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: July 26, 2007 FILE : Establish a special revenue account for Scavenger 2000 Resolution 07-0348, adopted June 14, 2007, authorizes the City Manager to enter into a sole source contract with Water Management Technologies, Inc. for the cleaning of our waterways. The contract shall utilize the services of the Scavenger 2000 Decontamination Boat for the litter and debris removal as well as oxygenation of the navigable waterways in the City. The term of this contract is for one (1) year with option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods. The funding for the first year of this project has been allocated from PW General fund in the amount of $300,000. This amount is divided into $200,000 from the PW Account Code 00001.208000.534000.0000.00000 and $100,000 from Miami Dade Countywide general fund. Public Works will pay the services of the Scavenger 2000 for the first year amounting to $300,000 and we will then submit the invoices to the County for $100,000 which will be reimbursed to Public Works. Based on this information, I am respectfully requesting your permission to open a Special Revenue Account to accept reimbursement of $100,000 from the Miami Dade County. Enclosed is the Award Setup Form, Resolution, the Interlocal Agreement and the sole source determination memorandum for your use.
