Subject: Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an amendment with South Florida Water
Management District for the Biscayne Bay Blueway Project.
Purpose of Item:
To request approval of the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an amendment
with the South Florida Water Management District for the Biscayne Bay Blueway Project.
Background Information:
The South Florida Water Management District funded a portion of the work for the shoreline
stabilization and installation of a canoe/kayak launch with navigation signage at Morningside and
Margaret Pace Parks. It was determined that another agency was better able to create the educational
brochures and develop design criteria for the boat launch; therefore a portion of the original grant to
the City was redirected to the other agency (Trust for Public Land) An amendment is required to (1)
extend the period of performance for three (3) months; (2) reduce the funding amount by $25,000; 3)
amend the statement of work to delete the preparation of District Educational Brochures and design
criteria for new boat launches for the Biscayne Bay Blueway Project; (4) revise the payment and
deliverable schedule; and (5) amend the project manager name.
A separate item will de -appropriate the $25,000.
