A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND THE SOUTH FLORIDA
WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM,
FOR THE BISCAYNE BAY BLUEWAY PROJECT TO PROVIDE FOR THE
FOLLOWING: (1) EXTENDING THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE BY THREE
MONTHS, UNTIL OCTOBER 23, 2007; (2) DECREASING THE FUNDING IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000, FOR A TOTAL REVISED AMOUNT OF
$300,000; (3) AMENDING THE STATEMENT OF WORK TO DELETE THE
PREPARATION OF DISTRICT EDUCATIONAL BROCHURES AND DESIGN
CRITERIA FOR NEW BOAT LAUNCHES;(4) REVISING THE PAYMENT AND
DELIVERABLES SCHEDULE; AND (5) AMENDING THE PROJECT MANAGER
NAME; REDUCING THE FUNDING AMOUNT OF THE BISCAYNE BAY BLUEWAY
PROJECT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000, FROM CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. B-30317, ENTITLED "MORNINGSIDE PARK
SHORELINE STABILIZATION," BY A SEPARATE RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0336, adopted May 25, 2006, the City Commission
accepted grant funds in the amount of $325,000, from the South Florida Water Management District
("SFWMD") in order to partially fund shoreline stabilization and installation of canoe/kayak launches
with educational materials and navigational signage at Morningside and Margaret Pace Parks, and
authorized the execution of an Agreement; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that it was more advantageous for another agency to produce
educational brochures and develop the design criteria for the new boat launches and the City of Miami
("City") is no longer to perform this function; and
WHEREAS, amendments are now needed to provide for the following: (1) extending the City's
period of performance for a total of three (3) months until October 23, 2007 and August 22, 2007
respectively; (2) decreasing the funding in an amount not to exceed $25,000, for a revised total
amount not to exceed $300,000; (3) amending the statement of work to delete the preparation of
District Educational Brochures and design criteria for new boat launches for the Biscayne Bay Blueway
Project; (4) revising the payment and deliverables schedule for both projects; and (5) amending the
project manager name for both projects; and
WHEREAS, a separate resolution will reduce the funding of the project in an amount not to exceed
$25,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by

reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1 } to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement
between the City and SFWMD, in substantially;the attached form, for the Biscayne Bay Blueway
Project, to provide for the following: (1) extending the period of performance for a total of three (3)
months, until October 23, 2007; (2) decreasing the funding in an amount not to exceed $25,000, for a
revised total amount not to exceed $300,000; (3) amending the statement of work to delete the
preparation of District Educational Brochures and design criteria for new boat launches for the
Biscayne Bay Blueway Project; (4) revising the payment and deliverables schedule for both projects;
and (5) amending the project manager name for both projects.
Section 3. Funds, in the amount not to exceed $25,000, are to be reduced from Capital
Improvements Project No. B-30317, entitled "Morningside Park," by a separate resolution.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1 } If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
