A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AN
INCREASE IN THE OPERATING EXPENSES FOR THE COUNTY COURT
OVERTIME REDUCTION STANDBY PROGRAM, WITH THE MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF
POLICE, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 07-0012, ADOPTED JANUARY 11,
2007, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $30,954.44, INCREASING THE
EXPENSES FROM AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $161,564.23 TO AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $192,518.67; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE DEPARTMENT
OF POLICE GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT CODE NO.
00001.191653.534000.0000.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 07-0012, adopted January 11, 2007, the City Commission
authorized the allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $161,564.23, for a one-year period, to
the Miami -Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police, County Court Overtime Reduction Standby
Program; and
WHEREAS, an error in the calculations of misdemeanor arrests for 2004 resulted in the incorrect
billing for services rendered October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006, through the Court Standby
Program; and
WHEREAS, the State Attorney's Office has been able to refine the actual cases processed
through the Court Standby Program to accurately reflect true departmental participation; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend increasing the operating
expenses, in an amount not to exceed $30,954.44, increasing the expenses from $161,564.23 to
$192,518.67; and
WHEREAS, funds for said increase are available from the Department of Police General Operating
Budget, Account Code 00001.191653.534000.0000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA;
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. An increase in the operating expenses for the County Court Overtime Reduction
Standby Program, with the Miami -Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police, pursuant to Resolution
No. 07-0012, adopted January 11, 2007, for the Department of Police, in an amount not to exceed
$30,954.44, increasing the expenses from $161,564.23 to $192,518.67, is authorized, with funds for
said increase allocated from the Department of Police General Operating Budget, Account Code No,
00001.191653.534000.0000.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption and signature of the
Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
