HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 07-90917 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING TRUST FUND, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $75,000; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROJECT NO. 19-690001, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 12500.191602.896000.0000, WITH SUCH EXPENDITURES HAVING BEEN APPROVED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE AS COMPLYING WITH SECTION 932.7055, FLORIDA STATUTES, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, Section 932.7055, Florida Statutes, as amended, authorizes the expenditures of forfeited cash or proceeds for certain law enforcement purposes; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Department of Police will be training its personnel in areas that are necessary to perform or support official law enforcement duties and to further professional law enforcement career development; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the community and the City of Miami to continue to fund these expenditures through monies generated as a result of seizures authorized under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act; and WHEREAS, funds to cover said expenditures are available from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 19-690001, Account Code No. 12500.191602.896000.0000, with such expenditures having been certified by the Chief of Police as complying with Section 932.7055, Florida Statutes, as amended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of funds to the Law Enforcement Training Trust Fund, in an amount not to exceed $75,000, is authorized, with funds allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project No. 19-690001, Account Code No. 12500.191602.896000.0000, with such expenditure having been approved by the Chief of Police as complying with Section 932.7055, Florida Statutes, as amended. Section 3.
