Subject: Awarding the Purchase of One Cement Silo, & Sprayer Truck pursuant to the Invitation For
Bid (IFB) No. 6169, 1.
Purpose of Item:
The purpose of this item is to respectfully recommend for the Miami City Commission to award the
the purchase of a chemical/pesticide sprayer truck from Engine & Accessory, Inc. in the total amount
of $49,265; and, the purchase of a portable cement silo from Zimmerman Industries, Inc. in the total
amount of $26,309 for the Department of Public Works. Allocating funds in the total amount of
$75,574 from Fiscal Year 06/07, Account Code No. 38000.201000.664000.0000.00000.
Background Information:
The Purchasing Department issued an Invitation For Bid (IFB) No. 6169, 1, to purchase one portable
cement silo, a sprayer truck, and an auger truck for the Department of Public Works. The IFB was
sent to seventy five (75) suppliers and two (2) bids were submitted by Engine & Accessory, Inc. and
Zimmerman Industries, Inc. The method of award is to be made on an item by item basis to the lowest
responsive and responsible bidder. Therefore, it is respectfully recommended for the award to be
made to Engine & Accessory, Inc., for purchase of a chemical/pesticide sprayer truck in the total of
amount $49, 265; and, Zimmerman Industries, Inc., for the purchase of a portable cement silo in the
total amount of $26, 309. No bids were received for the auger truck.
