COMMUNITY OBJECTION The residents of Spring Garden felt that the project was out of scale for the neighborhood, and came out in full force at the HEP Board meeting. Although the Civic Association had supported more modern structures within the district in the past. some of those projects have now been completed. The impact of these projects on the scenic and historic nature of the neighborhood has been significant. HEP BOARD DECISION The HEP Board had a lengthy discussion on this item and heard much public testimony. The Historic and Environmental Preservation Board voted to deny the project in a 4 to 3 decision, with one member recusing themselves.
