A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING SECTION 54-440,
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED
"RESTRICTIONS" OF THE LITTLE HAVANA SPECIAL EVENTS DISTRICT, TO
ALLOW VENDING BY ARTISANS ON THE PROPERTY AT 1400 SOUTHWEST 8TH
STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, DURING FRIDAY, SATURDAYAND SUNDAY, FROM
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS RESOLUTION THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2007;
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO PROVIDE FOR CREATION OF A DISTRICT
OR SOME OTHER MECHANISM TO ADDRESS ARTISANS ON CALLE OCHO
BETWEEN SOUTHWEST 10TH AND 17TH AVENUES, MIAMI, FLORIDA.
BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 54-440, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, entitled
"Restrictions" of the Little Havana Special Events District, is waived, to allow vending by artisans on
the property at 1400 Southwest 8th Street, Miami, Florida, during Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from
the effective date of this Resolution through December 31, 2007.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to provide for creation of a district or some other
mechanism to address artisans on Calle Ocho between Southwest 10th and 17th Avenues, Miami,
Florida.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
