B-50695; AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $8,311,200, FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT NO. B-50695-FLAGAMI/WEST END STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FEDERALLY FUNDED SUBGRANT AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, AND ANY OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF AND COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has established capital improvement projects to improve the drainage in various communities throughout the City; and WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2,250,000, by the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management ("DEM"), to improve the drainage area referred to as the Flagami/West End Storm Sewer Improvements Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, matching funds from the City in the amount of $8,311,200, are required as a condition of the grant, and are available from the City's Capital Improvement Program ("CIP"), Project No. B- 50695- Flagami/West End Storm Sewer Improvements Project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. A grant award, in the amount of $2,250,000, from DEM, for the Project, is accepted. Section 3. The allocation of the City's required matching funds, in an amount not to exceed $8,311,200, from CIP Project No. B-50695-Flagami/West End Storm Sewer Improvements Project, is authorized. Section 4. Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the Federally Funded Subgrant Agreement, in substantially the attached form, and any other necessary documents to implement acceptance of and compliance with said grant. Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
