A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE DISASTER RECOVERY SERVICES
AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT"), BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND
SUNGARD RECOVERY SERVICES, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 03-420,
ADOPTED MAY 6, 2003, FOR THE CITY'S CRITICAL INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY. EQUIPMENT, IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $70,000, FROM
$460,000 TO A TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $530,000;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO REFLECT SAID
INCREASE; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE, FROM THE
DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, ACCOUNT CODE NO.
00001.251000.546000.0000.00000.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 03-420, adopted May 8, 2003, the City Commission
authorized a Professional Services Agreement for Disaster Recovery Services from SunGard
Recovery Services; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission also authorized the City Manager to reallocate City of Miami
("City") expenditures involving all contract amendments or addendums with SunGard and vary the
equipment, hardware and software provided to best fulfill the needs of the City without the necessity of
further City Commission approval as long as the total guaranteed cost did not exceed $460,000, over
the term of the contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Information Technology
recommend increasing the Disaster Recovery Services Agreement ("Agreement") with SunGard
Recovery Services, in the amount not to exceed $70,000, from $460,000 to $530,000; and
WHEREAS, the City requires this increase to cover adjustments based upon modifications to the
City's information technology hardware and/or applications infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, funds for said increase are available from the Department of Information Technology,
Account Code No. 00001.251000.546000.0000.00000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. An increase in the Agreement, between the City and SunGard Recovery Services,
pursuant to Resolution No. 03-420, adopted May 6, 2003, for the City's critical information technology

equipment, in the amount not to exceed $70,000, from $460,000 to a total contract amount not to
exceed $530,000, is authorized, with funds allocated for said increase, from the Department of
Information Technology, Account Code No. 00001.251000.546000,0000.00000.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, to reflect said increase.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
