A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CODESIGNATING
NORTHWEST 3RD AVENUE FROM NORTHWEST 11TH TERRACE TO
NORTHWEST 12TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "PROFESSOR CHARLES L.
WILLIAMS STREET;" FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF
THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Commission directive, the Miami Street Codesignation Review
Committee, at itsmeeting of June 11, 2007, reviewed and recommended the proposal for street
codesignation of Northwest 3rd Avenue from Northwest 11th Terrace to Northwest 12th Street, Miami,
Florida, as "Professor Charles L. Williams Street;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2, Northwest 3rd Avenue from Northwest 11th Terrace to Northwest 12th Street, Miami,
Florida, is codesignated as "Professor Charles L. Williams Street."
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a copy
of this Resolution to the Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste, Miami -Dade County Public
Works and the United States Postal Service.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
