Background Information: The FDOT will initiate a landscape project along Biscayne Boulevard from NE 37`h Street to ;II 87`h Street. The City of Miami requested that FDOT include in their landscape project certain non-standard urban deslgjp features which would accentuate the unique characteristics of the corridor and adjacent land use. The desired enhancements included decorative treatments to the sidewalks within the historic Miami Modernism ("MiMo") District (from NE'+J,OtStreet to NE 77th Street) and uplighting enhancements in the landscaped median (approximately from NE 40*h S set to NE 50`h Street). The City agreed to fund the proposed enhancements and FDOT agreed to include the work in their upcoming landscape project. The infrastructure work necessary for the uplighting has been completed by the FDOT 11s part of the current roadway reconstruction project and work on the landscaping is ready to begin as soon as the Cit.( places their funding contribution in an escrow account. This resolution will authorize all of the necessary agreements and funding to initiate the project. The agreements to be executed are as follows: Biscayne Boulevard Landscape Lighting (NE 40 St - NE 50 St) and Decorative Side ty,glks (NE 50 St - NE 67 St), FDOT Project Number 250224-2-52-01. City of Miami financial contribution: $219,000.00. 1. Locally Funded Joint Partnership Agreement 2. Memorandum of Agreement to establish an interest -bearing escrow account throughout the project 3. Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement for upgraded work. The City will be responsible for the maintenance of landscaping, irrigation, decorative pavement, tree grates, and lighting. Biscayne Boulevard Decorative Sidewalks (NE 67 St - NE 77 St), FDOT Project Number 405641-2-52-01. City of Miami financial contribution: $79,000,00. 1. Locally Funded JPA 2. Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement for upgraded work contracted. The City will be responsible for the maintenance of landscaping, irrigation, decorative pavement, and tree grates.
