HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 07-00710 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A USE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, FOR THE STAGING OF THE 2007 FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL SEASON TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 8, OCTOBER 6, NOVEMBER 17, NOVEMBER 24 AND DECEMBER 1, 2007, AT THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM, WITH A MAXIMUM BASIC USE FEE OF $5,000, PER EVENT DAY; PROVIDING FOR THE ORGANIZERS TO PAY ALL NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY OF MIAMI SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT, WITH TERMS AND CONL'!T!ONS AS MORE P RT!CU! tiRLY SET FORTH IN SAID AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, Florida International University wishes to stage its 2007 Florida International University Football Season at the Miami Orange Bowl; and WHEREAS, the 2007 Florida International University home football games will generate additional revenues to the City of Miami ("City"), and WHEREAS, the organizer is requesting that the basic use fee be capped at $5,000 versus 10% of gross ticket sales; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute a Use Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with Florida International University, for the staging of the Florida International University football season to be held September 8, October 6, November 17, November 24 and December 1, 2007, at the Miami Orange Bowl Stadium, with a maximum basic use fee of $5,000, per event day and providing for the organizers to pay all necessary costs of City services and applicable fees associated with said event, with terms and conditions as more particularly set forth in said Agreement.
