In June 1994, the program expanded to include Hungary. Thus, GILEE changed its name to Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange. With the name change the objectives have also been fine- tuned to focus on law enforcement executive development and on international cooperation. GILEE's extensive community partnerships provide tangible benefits to the law enforcement community, to corporate security officers, to the business community and to the community at large. GILEE has also proven itself as a valuable asset to homeland security. GILEE is an award -winning program that relies on financial support from private sources (corporations, associations, foundations, individuals, and GILEE graduations), and from law enforcement agencies, as well as technical and logistical support from public organizations, civic associations and government sources.
