HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-07-0308City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-07-0308 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 07-00690 Final Action Date: 6/12/2007 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ENTITLEMENT GRANT FUNDS, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $25,163,482, IN THE AMOUNTS AS STATED HEREIN, FOR THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT, HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS, AMERICAN DREAM DOWNPAYMENT INITIATIVE, HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS, AND THE EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT FUNDS. WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("U.S. HUD") has advised the City of Miami ("City") of the entitlement grants to be received by the City for the following programs: Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG"), Home Investment Partnerships ("HOME"), American Dream Downpayment Initiative ("ADDI"), Housing Opportunities For Persons With AIDS ("HOPWA"), and the Emergency Shelter Grant ("ESG");and WHEREAS, the amount of the funds to be granted to the City for said programs are: (1) $8,438,887, to the CDBG Program, (2) $4,602,629, to the HOME Program, (3) $68,512, to the ADDI Program, (4) $11,689,000, to HOPWA, and (5) $364,454, to ESG; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The acceptance of entitlement grant funds from U.S. HUD, in the total amount of $25,163,482, in the amounts stated herein, for the following programs, is authorized:(1) $8,438,887, to the CDBG Program, (2) $4,602,629, to the HOME Program, (3) $68,512, to the ADDI Program, (4) $11,689,000, to HOPWA, and (5) $364,454, to ESG. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents to implement the acceptance of said grant funds. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 07-00690 (Version: 1) Printed On: 3/30/2017 File Number: 07-00690 Enactment Number: R-07-0308 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
