HomeMy WebLinkAboutText File ReportCity of Miami Text File Report City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File ID: 07-00380 Enactment#: R-07-0170 Version: 1 Type: Resolution Introduced: 3/9/07 Status: Passed Enactment Date: 3/22/07 Controlling Body: Office of the City Clerk A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUNDS, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $58,738.57, FROM BLACK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COALITION, INC, AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS, TO NEIGHBORS AND NEIGHBORS ASSOCIATION, INC, TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO BUSINESSES LOCATED IN DISTRICT 5; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 04-0378, adopted June 10, 2004, the City Commission approved allocating the amount of $40,000 to Black Economic Development Coalition, Inc., to provide technical assistance to private for profit entities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0371, adopted June 8, 2006, the City Commission approved allocating the amount of $150,000 to Neighbors and Neighbors Association, Inc., ("NANA"), and the amount of $50,000 to Black Economic Development Coalition, Inc., to provide technical assistance to private for profit entities; and WHEREAS, the Administration is recommending the transfer of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds, in the total amount of $58,738.57, from Black Economic Development Coalition, Inc., as specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated and allocating said funds to NANA, to provide technical assistance to businesses located in District 5; and WHEREAS, businesses currently being assisted by Black Economic Development Coalition, Inc., will be transferred to NANA for assistance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section I. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of CDBG funds, in the total amount of $58,738.57, from Black Economic Development Coalition, Inc., as specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, and the allocation of said funds to NANA, to provide technical assistance to businesses located in District 5, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized (1 ) to execute the necessary documents, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose.
