WHEREAS, in MAY of 2007, the Miami Parks and Public Spaces Master Plan ("Plan") was completed by Goody Clancy and Associates for the City of Miami, Department of Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, on May 16, 2007, the Planning Advisory Board, by a vote of to ( - ), recommended approval of the final draft of the Plan, attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the Department of Planning recommended approval of the attached Plan; which sets short and long term goals that will direct the City Of Miami Parks and Recreation Department into a premier parks system by providing a framework in the areas of maintenance, building design, program and staff management and operations that will propel them towards becoming a 21st century park system as envisioned in the Miami 21 initiatives; and WHEREAS, the herein Resolution has been the subject of a properly advertised public hearing before the City Commission; Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth in the preamble of this resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this section. Section 2. On May 16, 2007, the Planning Advisory Board, by a vote of to ( - ), recommended approval of the final draft of the Plan, attached hereto Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JORGE L. FERNANDEZ CITY ATTORNEY {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
