A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAM1 CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $144,124.04,
PREVIOUSLY ALLOCATED TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
OF THE EXCEPTIONAL, INC.; AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF SAID
FUNDS, TO THE CITY OF M1AM1 DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT CDBG SINGLE FAMILY REHAB PROGRAM, FOR THE
PROVISION OF THE SINGLE FAMILY REHAB PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 96-551, adopted July 25, 1996, the City Commission
allocated a total of $47,800, in Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds to the
Association for the Development of the Exceptional, Inc. to carry out public facilities and improvement
activities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 98-402.1, adopted April 14, 1998, the City Commission
allocated additional CDBG funding in the amount of $50,000; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0477, adopted July 28, 2005, the City Commission
allocated said agency and additional sum of $140,000, for a total compensation of $237,800; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the balance of CDBG funds, in an amount not to
exceed $144,124.04, previously allocated to the Association for the Development of the Exceptional,
Inc. be transferred to the City of Miami Development of Community Development CDBG Single Family
Rehab Program, due to the lack of progress and the inability of the agency to obtain the necessary
construction permits in a timely manner; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the transfer of CDBG Program funds, in an amount
not to exceed $144,124.04, previously allocated to the Association for the Development of the
Exceptional, Inc. and the reallocation of said funds to the City of Miami Department of Community
Development CDBG Single Family Rehab Program for the provision of the Single Family Rehab
Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF M1AMI,
FLORI DA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of CDBG Program funds, in an amount not to exceed $144,124.04,
previously allocated to the Association for the Development of the Exceptional, Inc. and the allocation
of said funds to the City of Miami Department of Community Development CDBG Single Family Rehab
Program, for the provision of the Single Family Rehab Program, is authorized.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of (10} calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
