A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING
THE TRANSFER OF 26TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
FUNDS, 1N AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $150,000, FROM THE ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMS,
INC.; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF OFF-STREET
PARKING ("DOSP") FOR ACQUISITION AND/OR DEVELOPMENT OF A PROPERTY IN THE
AREA OF 151 NORTHWEST 60TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, TO BE DEVELOPED AS A
PUBLIC PARKING LOT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH DOSP, FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, Resolution No: 04-0313, adopted May 6, 2004, allocated 26th Year Community Development Block Grant
("CDBG") Program funds in an amount not to exceed $150,000, to the Alternative Programs, Inc. for the acquisition and/or
development of a near -by property to be developed as a public parking lot; and
WHEREAS, said agency notified the City of Miami ("City") that they would prefer the City to complete the project; and
WHEREAS, the City's Department of Off -Street Parking ("DOSP") possesses the expertise to deliver quality parking
facilities in a timely and cost effective manner;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2: The transfer of 26th Year CDBG Program funds, in an amount not to exceed $150,000, from The Alternative
Programs, Inc. and the allocation of said funds to DOSP for acquisition and/or development of a property in the area of 151
Northwest 60th Street, Miami, Florida, to be developed as a public parking lot, is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{ I } to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with
DOSP for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor {2}.
