Subject: Child Care Food Program
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a contract for Child Care Food Program from Greater Miami
Caterers,Inc., for an initial contract period of one (1) year with the option to renew for two (2)
additional one-year periods, allocating funds from the various sources of funds of the user department,
subject to the availability of funds and budget approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The City if Miami Department of Parks and Recreation, Day Care Division operates a year-round
food service program for preschool -aged children enrolled in its day care facilities. On March 5, 2007,
the Purchasing Department issued Invitation to Bid No.16012. As required by the Procurement Code,
the IFB was advertised, and approximately fifteen (15) potential bidders were notified as registered
under the Florida Department of Health Child Care Food Program. Bids were due and two (2) bids
were received on March 21, 2007. Greater Miami Caterers, Inc. submitted the only responsive and
responsible bid and is therefore recommended for award.
