HomeMy WebLinkAboutPre-Legislation FR/SRRESOLUTION NO, 25/2006 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MIAMI DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ("DDA") OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE DDA'S RULES OF PROCEDURES (BY-LAWS) AS RECOMMENDED BY THE BY-LAWS COMMITTEE AS IT RELATES TO TERM LIMITS. WHEREAS, the DDA adopted Rules of Procedures (By-laws) on April 16, 2004; and WHEREAS, the DDA Board of Directors wish to amend Section 3.4 of the DDA Rules of Procedures (By-laws) to increase board terms from a three-year term to a four-year term and setting criteria which would allow a maximum concurrent term of twelve years; and WHEREAS, the Code of the City of Miami will need to be amended as well prior to the aforementioned By -Laws changes taking effect. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the Miami Downtown Development Authority of the City of Miami, Florida. Section 1. The recitals are true and correct and are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The DDA Board of Directors approves an amendment to the Downtown Development Authority's Rules of Procedures (By-laws) as recommended by the By -Laws Committee as it relates to term limits. Section 3. These changes will take effect upon the amendments to the Code of the City of Miami being approved. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 171" day of February, 2006. stoner Johnny L.
