HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3530 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Nmnber: 07-00519 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING TO THE FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION/FLORIDA BOATING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,883.50, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MARINA FORK LIFT TRUCK FOR THE MARINE STADIUM MARINA; AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS FOR FIFTY PERCENT (50%) OF THE PROJECT COSTS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,883.50, FROM ACCOUNT NO. 04002.221050.534000.0000.00000; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID GRANT APPLICATION, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008, SUBJECT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID GRANT APPLICATION. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") operates a 300 vessel capacity dry storage marina facility Marine Stadium Marina; and WHEREAS, the marina fork lift trucks currently being used at said facility are five (5) and nine (9) years old; and WHEREAS, the nine (9) year old fork lift truck is entering the end of its usefulness due to operational wear and marine environmental conditions; and WHEREAS, the total cost of replacing the fork lift truck is projected to be $200,767; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to apply for grant funding from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission/Florida Boating Improvements Program, in an amount not to exceed 50% of the total cost of replacement, or not more than $100,883.50, to be matched by an equal amount of City funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to submit an application for grant funding to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission/Florida Boating Improvements Program, in an amount not to exceed $100,833.50, for the purchase of a marina fork lift truck for the Marine Stadium Marina. Section 3. The allocation of the City's required matching funds of fifty percent (50%) of the project City ofMiwai Page 1 of2 Printed Ow 4/11/2907 File Number. 07-00519 costs, in an amount not to exceed $100,833.50, from Account No. 04002.221050.534000.0000.00000. Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized{1} to execute said grant application, in substantially the attached form, to implement acceptance of said grant for Fiscal Year 2007-2008, subject to the terms and conditions of said grant application. Section 5. The City will follow all procurement policies in reference to replacing the fork lift truck Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JORGE L. FERNANDEZ CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
