Background Information: In 2003, with the assistance of the Miami River Commission and the Trust for Public Land, the City of Miami ("City") applied for and was awarded a Transportation Enhancement Program ("TEP") grant in the amount of $1,000,000 from the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") for the North Spring Garden Greenway Project, B-40643A. The Trust for Public Land has committed to providing the $1,000,000 match required for the grant in kind. This grant is consistent with the Miami River Greenways Action Plan, adopted in principle by the City in May 2001. The Greenways Projects will provide outdoor recreational opportunities and an alternative transportation corridor for people living and working along the river to easily and safely walk or bike to mass transit connectors. The North Spring Garden Greenway project will provide new landscape and hardscape, lighting, reconstruction of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, drainage system, and street improvements along North River Drive From NW 1 lth Place to NW 7th St. Rd.
