Re: Interlocal Agreement for FEMA Funded Stormwater Drainage Projects
between the City of Miami (City) and Miami -Dade County (MDC).
Dear Mr. Arrlola:
Attach&d you will find a copy of a letter dated May 9, 2002, from Miami -Dade County
to the Citythat sought to inform the City of the pending FEMA Funded Projects and
the City's responsibility for its cost share of the Local Matching Fund. As you know,
the FEMA Funded Stomiwater Drainage Project has been completed on the
Comfort Canal, which shall provide long-term benefit to the City.
Also attached is a draft of an Interlocai Agreement between the City and MDC for
the FEMA Funded Stormwater Drainage Projects. As depicted in Attachment IS* of
the Agreement, the actual cost of the Comfort Canal is $7,573,964. The Local
Matching Fund (12.5%) Is $946,745. The City's Cost Share (92%) is.therefore
$871,006. Then% Management Fee is based on the City's share of the actual cost
and is $139,361, which may be included with the first annual payment or financed.
The grand total is $1,010,367. -
Additionally, the Term of the Agreement has been set at ten (10) years, but may be
modified at the City's request. Please review the enclosed lnterlocal Agreement for
FEMA Funded Stormwater Drainage Projects and provide comments within thirty
(30) days.
