Re: Interlocal Agreement for FEMA Funded Stormwater Drainage Projects
between the City of Miami (City) and Miaml-Dade County (MDC).
Dear Mr. Arriola:
On December 8, 2004, the Department of Environmental Resources Management
(DERM) transmitted a draft of an Interlocai Agreement between the City and MDC
for the FEMA Funded Stormwater Drainage Projects. Since then, this Department
has completed the FEMA funded projects on the Comfort Canal at a cost Tess than
originally anticipated.
Therefore, attached you will find the Interlocal Agreement with the updated Current
Estimated Cost and a corresponding Estimated Final Cost Share for the City of
Miami. As depicted in Attachment "B" of the Agreement, the Current Estimated Cost
of the Comfort Canal is $3,754,280. The Local Matching Fund (12.5%) is $469,285.
The City's Cost Share (92%) is $431,742. The 2% Management Fee is based on
the City's share of the Current Estimated Cost and is $69,079, which may be
included with the first annual payment or financed. The grand total is $500,821.
Additionally, the Term of the Agreement has been set at ten (10) years, with an
annual payment of $50,082 plus interest, but the Term may be shortened at the
City's request. Please review the enclosed lnterlocal Agreement for FEMA Funded
Stormwater Drainage Projects and provide comments within thirty (30) days.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Curt Williams or me at
