Subject: ACCEPTING FUNDS FROM THE FL, DEFT. OF FINANCIAL SERVICES
Purpose of Item:
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000, FROM THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES — MY SAFE FLORIDA HOME PROGRAM TO
THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO ASSIST
HOMEOWNERS' WITH DAMAGES AND LOSSES CAUSED BY THE HURRICANES AND TO
STABILIZE HOMEOWNERS' INSURANCE PREMIUMS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
FUNDS.
Background Information:
The administration recommends the acceptance of funds in the amount of $500,000 from the Florida
Department of Financial Services- My Safe Florida Home Program.
Said funds will be utilized to assist homeowners' with damages and losses caused by the hurricanes
and to stabilize homeowners' insurance premium.
