Subject: A resolution directing the City Manager to develop an Ordinance for establishing a Miami
Green fleet Program.
Purpose of Item:
A resolution of the City of Miami Commission directing the City Manager to develop an ordinance
establishing a green fleet program to assure that the city is purchasing, leasing, or otherwise obtaining
the most energy efficient vehicles and vessels possible.
Background Information:
Gas consumption in our cars is one of the most significant contributors to green house gas emissions.
This resolution will direct the City Manager to develop an Ordinance to establish a Miami Green Fleet
Program. This program will promote the use of energy efficient vehicles and their proper and efficient
use. This Ordinance will be developed by City staff within 60 days.
