FROM $150,000 TO $200,000 FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF THE ADDITIONAL FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000, FROM THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TRUST FUND; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, on January 25, 2007, the City Commission authorized the conveyance of eight parcels of land to various developers and allocated the transfer of funds, in the amount of $150,000 from the Affordable Housing Trust fund to Better Way of Miami, Inc. for the development of affordable housing; and WHEREAS, In order to meet current City of Miami's Building Codes, the cost of the building rehabilitation was higher than previously estimated; and WHEREAS, the lowest bidder in the procurement process for the rehabilitation is $180,000; and WHEREAS, the Administration is recommending amending Resolution Number 07-0053, adopted January 25, 2007, increasing the amount of funds allocated to Better Way of Miami, Inc. from $150,000 to $200,000 for the development of Affordable Housing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to amend Resolution Number 07-0053, adopted January 25, 2007, increasing the amount of funds allocated to Better Way of Miami, Inc. from $150,000 to $200,000 for the development of affordable housing. Section 3. The transfer of funds, in the amount of $50,000 from the Affordable Housing Trust fund, is authorized. Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, for said purpose. Section 5. FERNANDEZ CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions, {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
