HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 07-00261 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF 32ND YEAR HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $42,750, FROM MOVERS, INC.; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, FOR THE LONG TERM RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, AS SPECIFIED IN "ATTACHMENT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0367, adopted June 8, 2006, the City Commission allocated the amount of $42,750, to MOVERS, Inc., to provide housing specialist services for the Long Term Rental Assistance ("LTRA") program; and WHEREAS, the need to provide LTRA for individuals and families diagnosed with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome ("AIDS") continues to grow in Miami -Dade County; and WHEREAS, based on recent audit and monitoring findings, the Administration is recommending the transfer of Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS ("HOPWA") funds, in the amount of $42,750, from MOVERS, Inc. to the City of Miami Department of Community Development for the Long Term Rental Assistance Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORI DA: Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of 32nd Year HOPWA funds, in the amount of $42,750, from Movers, Inc., and the allocation of said funds to the Department of Community Development, for the LTRA Program, as specified in "Attachment A," attached and incorporated, is authorized. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ORG .
