A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, BY A FOUR -FIFTHS
(415THS) AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, AFTER AN ADVERTISED PUBLIC HEARING,
RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDING
OF A SOLE SOURCE; WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETITIVE
SEALED BIDDING PROCEDURES AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
NINETY-SEVEN (97) TASERS, STYLE AONA NO.

INC., OR IT26012 AND
N RELATED
EQUIPMENT, FROM TASER INTERN
AUTHORIZED DISTRIBUTOR, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, AT AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $80,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE POLICE
GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT CODE NO.
00001.191507..664000.00000.
WHEREAS, the Department of Police ("Department") will be purchasing ninety-seven (97) tasers,
Style No. X26, Model 26012 and related equipment to con'tinue equipping, police personnel; and
WHEREAS, said equipment ig necessary to continue the Department's effort in reducing injuries to
officers and subjects; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Procurement Officer has adopted a finding that TASER International, Inc., is
the sole source provider of the taser, Style No. X26, Model 26012 and related equipment; and
WHEREAS, the findings of the Chief Procurement Officer have been approved and adopted as the
findings of the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the
requirements for competitive formal sealed bids be waived and the purchase of ninety-seven (97)
tasers, Style No. X26, Model 26012 and related equipment, from TASER International, Inc., as the
sole source, be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. By a four -fifths (415ths) affirmative vote, after an advertised public hearing, the City
Manager's finding of a sole source, waiving the requirements for competitive sealed bidding
procedures is ratified, approved and confirmed, and the purchase of ninety-seven (97) tasers, Style
No. X26, Model 26012 and related equipment, from TASER International, Inc., or its Florida authorized
distributor, for the Department, at an amount not to exceed $80,000, is approved, with funds allocated
from the Police General Operating Budget, Account Code No. 00001.191507.664000.00000.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
s{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
