Thompson City Clerk Date: January 12, 2007 Subject: Virginia Key Beach Park Trust References: February 8, 2007 Agenda Enclosures: List of members The Virginia Key Beach Park Trust was created to preserve the Virginia Key Beach Park in cooperation with the Department of Parks and Recreation and other City depatttnents in a manner consistent with the environmental health, public use, historical importance of the Park and the aspirations of the African American community and shall propose policy, planning, and design to ensure maximum community utilization, enjoyment, and maintenance of the Park as an open greenspace compatible with its historical and recreational characteristics and accessible to the public. Nine (9) appointments are needed at this time: • Chairman Gonzalez has one nomination for seat currently held by Maud Newbold, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. • Vice Chairman Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Gustavo Godoy, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. • Commissioner Sarnoff has one nomination for seat currently held by Mark Walters, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. • Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Miguel Germain, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. • Commissioner Spence -Jones has one nomination for seat currently held by Erika McKinney, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. • Mayor Diaz has one nomination for seat currently held by Gene Tinnie, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. • The Commission -at -Large has three (3) nominations for seats currently held by: 1. Enid C. Pinkney, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. 2. Eugenia B. Thomas, whose term will expire on February 8, 2007. 3. Vacancy (seat formerly held by M. Athalie Range). For your convenience, we are including a copy of the membership of the Trust. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the February 8, 2007 Commission agenda.
