HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution File Number: 07-00110 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.cam Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000, FROM MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DISTRICT 6 DISCRETIONARY RESERVE AND OFFICE FUND ACCOUNT; AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF SAID FUNDS, TO SUNSHINE FOR ALL, INC., TO PROVIDE MEALS TO HOMEBOUND ELDERLY PERSONS RESIDING IN THE CITY OF MIAMI'S DISTRICT 4 AREA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID FUNDS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH SUNSHINE FOR ALL, INC., FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County Commissioner Rebecca Sosa has allocated the amount of $5,000 from her District 6 Discretionary Reserve and Office Fund Account to assist City of Miami ("City") residents living within City's District 4 area; and WHEREAS, Sunshine for All, Inc., is the only service provider/agency that provides and delivers meals to homebound elderly residents in District 4; and WHEREAS, this Administration recommends accepting said funds and authorizing the allocation of ttie funds- to Sunshine -for Al InG., to-provide_me.al_s_to homebound elderly persons residing in the City's District 4 area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1, The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The acceptance of funds, in the amount of $5,000, from Miami -Dade County District 6 Discretionary Reserve and Office Fund Account, is authorized. Section 3. The allocation of said funds to Sunshine for All, Inc., to provide meals to homebound elderly persons residing in the City's District 4 area, is authorized. Section 4. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, to implement the acceptance of said funds. Section 5. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with Sunshine for All, Inc., for said purpose. CITY ATT RN Y : Footnotes : {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements ablthat may rbe imposeCoded by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed byapplicable City provisions. {2) If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
