Subject: Resolution Granting an Easement to Florida Power & Light located at 480 NW 11 Street,
Miami, Florida,
Purpose of Item:
The Administration recommends that the Miami City Commission adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the City Manager to execute a Grant of Easement, in substantially the attached form, to
Florida Power & Light Company, a Florida Corporation, ("FPL"), an approximately 140.8 square foot
perpetual, non-exclusive easement on City -owned property located at 480 NW 11 Street, Miami,
Florida, as more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, for the
construction, operation and maintenance of electric facilities, with the right to reconstruct, improve,
change and remove all or any of the facilities within the easement.

SUPPLEMENTAL SHEET
Subject: Resolution Granting an Easement to Florida Power & Light located at 480 NW 11 Street,
Miami, Florida.
Background Information:

Florida Power & Light Company has requested an approximately 140.8 square foot perpetual, non-
exclusive easement on City -owned property located at 480 NW 11 Street, Miami, Florida. This
easement will be used to construct, operate and maintain underground electric utility facilities to
service exclusively City -owned property (including transformer pad, ducts and/or cables, wires, poles,
guys, conduits and appurtenant equipment) to be installed from time to time; with the right to
reconstruct, improve, add to, enlarge, change the voltage, as well as, the size of and remove such
facilities or any of them within the Easement, with full right of ingress thereto and egress therefrom.
The easement is necessary in order to bring electrical service to the new building being constructed on
the property.
The easement shall further contain a reverter provision that if the easement is abandoned or
disconnected, the easement will cease and revert back to the City.
