Subject: Resolution authorizing the purchase of 150 Safety Vests.
Purpose of Item:
Resolution authorizing the purchase of 150 Safety vests at a cost of $450 each plus an additional
$8.95 each to include a 4" x 10" embroidered patch that will identify personnel accordingly from
Florida Police Supply, utilizing the State of Florida Contract No. 680 - 850 - 05 - 1 for the Department
of Fire -Rescue, allocating funds in an amount not to exceed $69,000 from General Ledger Account
#11000.185000.552200.0000.00000; P-18-109001 T03 A 1017 E 552200 - Clothing/Uniform
Supplies 0 184010.
Background Information:
These vests need to be worn by firefighters during city disturbances/unrest or when circumstances
require that they wear it for their safety during a fire -rescue run. They frequently arrive on the scene
of an unstable situation prior to the Police Department and need this protection to adequately do their
job.
