Thompson City Clerk Subject: Waterfront Advisory Board References January 11, 2007 Enclosures List of members The Miami Waterfront Advisory Board was created to review and make recommendations to the City Commission concerning waterfront issues. A total of four (4) appointments are needed at this time. • Commissioner Spence -Jones has two (2) nominations for seats currently held by: 1. Ernest Martin, incumbent, appointed by former Commissioner Allen, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed by City Code (5 absences in 2006), requires a 4/5ths waiver of attendance requirement. Mr. Martin, who has served as a member since November 17, 1998, exceeding Code term limit, would also require a term waiver by a 5/5ths vote of the Commission. 2. Phillip B. Everingham, appointed by former Commissioner Allen, and whose term expired May 5, 2006, has served as a member since May 11, 1999, exceeding Code term limit, and would also require a term waiver by a 5/5ths vote of the Commission. • Mayor Diaz has two (2) nominations for seats currently held by: 1. T. Spencer Crowley, whose term expired May 5, 2006. 2. Vacancy (due to the resignation of Suzanne Peters). For your convenience, we are including a copy of the membership of the board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the January 11, 2007 Commission agenda. These matters were deferred from the September 12, 2006 and November 9, 2006 Commission meetings. PAT:pb c: Kirk R.
