Subject: Resolution accepting four grants for sewer projects from the Department of Environmental
Protection ("DEP") in the aggregate not to exceed amount of $2,250,000.
Purpose of Item:
A resolution authorizing the City Manager to accept four drainage improvements grants from the State
Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Further identifying matching funds for each grant from
their respective projects numbers and authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary documents.
The grant awards are for the following projects in the listed amounts:
$450,000 for Fairlawn Storm Sewer Pump Station — Phase 11A, Project B-50702
$800,000 for Miami Flagami / West End Storm Sewers Improvements — Phase II, Project B-50695
$500,000 for NE 71 Si Street Storm Sewers, Project B-50690
$500,000 for Belle Meade Storm Sewer Project —Phase 1I, B-50672.
Background information:
CIT applied for and received grants from DEP for drainage improvements projects in the following locations:
(1) Fairlawn Storm Sewer Pump Station — Phase 1IA - NW 4 Terr., NW 47 Ave., NW 7 St., NW 51 Ave. and a
portion of Antonio Maceo Park
(2) Miami Flagami / West End Storm Sewers Improvements — Phase II - Flagami — W. Flagler St., SW 8 St., SW
67 Ave. and SW 62 Ave. West End — Tamiami Canal St., W. Flagler St., NW 69 Ave. and NW 62 Ave.
(3) NE 714 Street Storm Sewers - NE 69 Street, NE 72 Street, Biscayne Blvd and Biscayne Bay
(4) Belle Meade Storm Sewer Project —Phase 1I - NE 6 Ct, NE 9 Ave, NE 74 St and the Little River Canal
The awards must be formally accepted and appropriated by the City Commission. Matching funds are available
in their respective project numbers. Funds will be appropriated by a separate resolution.
