A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING FOUR GRANT AWARDS, IN AN AGGREGATE AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $2,250,000, FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION, FOR DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, CONSISTING OF A
GRANT AWARD, IN THE AMOUNT OF $450,000, FOR THE FAIRLAWN STORM
SEWER PUMP STATION -PHASE IIA, PROJECT B-50702; $800,000, FOR THE
MIAMI FLAGAMI/WEST END STORM SEWERS IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT -PHASE II, PROJECT B-50695; $500,000, FOR THE NORTHEAST 71 ST
STREET STORM SEWER PROJECT, PROJECT B-50690; AND $500,000, FOR
THE BELLE MEADE STORM SEWER PROJECT- PHASE II, PROJECT B-50672;
ALLOCATING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $450,000, FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ("CIP")
PROJECT NO. B-50702, THE AMOUNT OF $266,667, FROM CIP PROJECT NO.
B-50695, THE AMOUNT OF $500,000, FROM CIP PROJECT NO. B-50690, AND
THE AMOUNT OF $500,000, FROM CIP PROJECT NO. B-50672; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE STATE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
AGREEMENTS AND AMENDMENTS TO AGREEMENTS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, AND ANY OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has established capital improvement projects to improve the
drainage in various communities throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, said projects have been incorporated into the City's Capital Improvement Program
and Multi -year Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City's Department of Capital Improvements applied for and received grants from
the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP") for four of these drainage improvement
projects; and
WHEREAS, the grant awards require matching funds from the City; and
WHEREAS, a $450,000 grant was awarded for the Fairlawn Storm Sewer Pump Station - Phase
IIA, with matching funds available from Capital Improvement Program ("CIP") Project No. B-50702;
and
WHEREAS, a $800,000 grant was awarded for the Miami Flagami/West End Storm Sewers
Improvements Project Phase II, with matching funds available from CIP Project No. B-50695; and
WHEREAS, a $500,000 grant was awarded for the Northeast 71 st Street Storm Sewer Project,
with matching funds available from CIP Project No. B-50690; and

WHEREAS, a $500,000 grant was awarded for the Belle Meade Storm Sewer Project -Phase II,
with matching funds available from CIP Project B-50672; and
WHEREAS, the DEP awards must be formally accepted and appropriated by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Four grant awards in the aggregate amount not to exceed $2,250,000, from the DEP,
consisting of a grant award in an amount not to exceed $450,000, for the Fairlawn Storm Sewer
Pump Station Project -Phase IIA, Project B-50702, an amount not to exceed $800,000, for the Miami
Flagami/West End Storm Sewers Improvements Project -Phase II, Project B-50695, an amount not to
exceed $500,000, for the Northeast 71 st Street Storm Sewer Project, Project B-50690, and an
amount not to exceed $500,000, for the Belle Meade Storm Sewer Project- Phase II, Project
B-50672, are accepted.
Section 3. The City's required matching funds are available and allocated for such grants in a total
amount not to exceed $1,716,667, consisting of $450,000, allocated from Project B-50702 for the
Fairlawn Storm Sewer Pump Project -Phase IIA, $266,667, allocated from Project B-50695 for the
Miami Flagami / West End Storm Sewers Improvements Project, $500,000, allocated from Project
B-50690 for the Northeast 71 st Street Storm Sewer Project, and $500,000, allocated from Project
B-50672 for the Belle Meade Storm Sewer Project- Phase II.
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the State Financial Assistance
Agreements and Amendments to Agreements, in substantially the attached form, and any other
necessary documents for said purpose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
