Subject: Authorizing the piggyback of Miami -Dade County Bid Contract No. 6164-4/11 for Tire
Retreading and Section Repairs
Purpose of Item:
The nature of item is to piggyback on Miami -Dade County Bid Contract Number 61 64-4/1 1, for the
provision of Tire Retreading and Section Repairs, on an as needed basis, with various suppliers, for a
contractual period of one (1) year with options to renew for four (4) additional one-year period,
subject to any further extensions or replacement contracts by Miami -Dade County, pursuant to the bid
prices, terms, and conditions of the Bid Contract. Allocating funds from the various sources of funds
from the user departments and agencies, authorizing said purchases, as needed, subject to availability
of funds and budgetary approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The City Miami Departments, specifically, the General Services Administration, Police and Fire
Departments have a large fleet of vehicles required for the delivery of municipal and public safety
services. Due to the wear and tear of tires on these vehicles a contract is required to retread worn out
tires and for section repairs.
