Thompson City Clerk Date: November 6, 2006 Subject: Code Enforcement Board References: December 14, 2006 Agenda Enclosures: List of members The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance. Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor, and a realtor. One (1) appointment is needed at this time, to fill an unexpired term ending February 13, 2007: • Chairman Gonzalez has one (1) nomination for a regular seat held by Maritza Alvarez, incumbent, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code (5 absences in 2006) and requires a 4/5ths waiver of the Commission. • Commissioner Regalado has one (1) nomination for a regular seat held by Hugh Ryan, incumbent, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code (11 absences in 2006) and requires a 4/5ths waiver of the Commission. • Commission -at -Large has one (1) nomination for an alternate member seat held by Eduardo Moralejo, incumbent, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code (5 absences in 2006) and requires a 4/5ths waiver of the Commission. For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the December 14, 2006 Commission agenda.
