As a partner is this effort, Miami -Dade County Public Schools has committed to giving students more time and opportunities to team wtriie also having fun In on -site after school care programs at targeted schools. The community teaming canter at Holmes Elementary School fits into alignment with the School Improvement Zone objectives to meet students' individual needs. We are pleased to see physical fitness, mentoring and tutoring, arts education, conflict resolution, and parental invohrement activities taking place, along with academic enrichment By combining our resources, the ultimate goal is to improve the academic performance of children. Additionally, the program will recruit teachers from our staff to provide academic enrichment opportunities durii g the Saturday literacy component. The school's administration and staff will work closely with the Nliami Learning Zone to strengthen parental involvement and assure that the after school program addresses the needs of the families of Holmes Elementary School.
