Please be advised that Miami -Dade County Public Schools is pleased to support the efforts of the City of
Miami Mentoring initiative end numerous collaborators with the 21s' Century Community Learning Center
Program at l olmee E1ementarj School.
As a partner is this effort, Miami -Dade County Public Schools has committed to giving students more time
and opportunities to team wtriie also having fun In on -site after school care programs at targeted schools.
The community teaming canter at Holmes Elementary School fits into alignment with the School
Improvement Zone objectives to meet students' individual needs. We are pleased to see physical fitness,
mentoring and tutoring, arts education, conflict resolution, and parental invohrement activities taking place,
along with academic enrichment
By combining our resources, the ultimate goal is to improve the academic performance of children. We
look forward to our continued collaboration with the City of Miami and its 21tl Century Community Learning
Center Program partners at Holmes Elementary School.

Community Learning Center meets a great need for the students
arid we look forward to continuing our collaborative effort.
1-lolmes Elementary School is committed to working closely with the City of Miami Mayor's
Office to assure that the academic work tackled within the after school program correlates with
the school's instructional calendar. Additionally, the program will recruit teachers from our staff
to provide academic enrichment opportunities durii g the Saturday literacy component. The
school's administration and staff will work closely with the Nliami Learning Zone to strengthen
parental involvement and assure that the after school program addresses the needs of the families
of Holmes Elementary School.
Together, our aim is to help students to stay in school, successfully learn, and prepare for life by
mobilizing community resources to support education. 1 sironcly support the City o[Nliaml's
Mayor's office application for the enhancement program grant.
