April 29, 2005 Dear Ms. Logan: Miami Jackson Senior High School will serve as one of the collaborative partners along vaith the City of Miami on implementing the "Miami Youth Council." We are aware of the importance of promoting and giving recognition to the abilities, accomplishments, and contributions of young people in our community This project proposed by Mayor Diaz's office focuses on the development of youth leaders. It also addresses the need for a shift in thinking regarding youth input by the teenagers who are actually affected by policies and practices. Miami Jackson is committed to working with the Miami Youth Council. Our teachers will implement the curriculum and work closely with the students as they learn about their community and how they can impact the future of the Miami. Together, our aim is to help students successfully learn and prepare for life by mobilizing community resources to support education. I strongly support the City of Miami's application for the Miami Youth Council Sincerely, Deborah Love Principal
