Background Information: The City is the owner of real property located at 100 NW 17'h Street, commonly known as the Dorsey Memorial Library. On September 25, 2003, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 03-1027, accepting a donation of in -kind services from the Turkel Resource Foundation, consisting of $50,000 worth of improvements to the Library. The City has received a commitment of funds from the Miami -Dade County Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond "(GOB)" in the amount of $250,000, for the Dorsey Memorial Library Project, B-30531.. Resolution No. 06-0611, adopted October 12, 2006 authorized the City Manager to appropriate the GOB funds in the total amount of $250,000 for Project B-30531. The Foundation is poised to continue with the restoration of the Library utilizing the GOB funds and the City is pleased with their performance and wishes to grant the GOB funds to the Foundation for the completion of the restoration work. Upon completion of the work, Dorsey Memorial Library will be used by the community as a resource offering historic archives and other printed materials. A separate agreement will be executed at a later date with Miami Dade County for the operation of the facility as a public library. NO YES Budget Impact Analysis Is this item related to revenue?
