HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-06-0692City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-06-0692 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-02123 Final Action Date: 12/14/2006 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING A GRANT RECEIVED FROM THE FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT ("FIND"), IN THE AMOUNT OF $424,745, FOR THE DINNER KEY MOORING FIELD PHASE II PROJECT B-33511; AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $441,755, FROM THE SECOND SERIES HOMELAND DEFENSE/NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT BOND PREVIOUSLY APPROVED BY VOTER REFERENDUM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FIND PROJECT AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has a strong interest to continue to construct a shoreline stabilization wall by implementing Phase II of the Dinner Key Mooring Field Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the City submitted a grant application to the Florida Inland Navigation District ("FIND") to fund the Project; and WHEREAS, the City received a grant award in the amount of $424,745, from FIND; and WHEREAS, the City's required matching funding amount of $441,755, is available from Capital Improvement Project No. 33511; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. A grant received from FIND, in the amount of $424,745, for the Project, is accepted. Section 3. The allocation of the City's required matching funds, in the amount of $441,755, from the Second Series Homeland Defense/Neighborhood Improvement Bond previously approved by voter referendum, is authorized. Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the FIND project agreement, in substantially the attached form, to implement acceptance of said grant. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 06-02123 (Version: 21 Printed On: 3/3/2017 File Number: 06-02123 Enactment Number: R-06-0692 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
