A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AFTER AN ADVERTISED
PUBLIC HEARING AS REQUIRED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO
RESOLUTION NO. 06-0256, ADOPTED APRIL 27, 2006, AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION CAMERAS
AT PUBLICLY DISCLOSED LOCATIONS, UTILIZING U.S. COMMUNITIES
GOVERNMENT PURCHASING ALLIANCE CONTRACT #RQ03-605674-16A, FOR
COMPUTERS (BRAND NAME), PERIPHERALS, SOFTWARE, AND RELATED
SERVICES (TECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS), EFFECTIVE THROUGH APRIL 30, 2006,
WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR THREE (3) ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR
PERIODS, SUBJECT TO ANY EXTENSIONS AND/OR REPLACEMENT
CONTRACTS BY U.S. COMMUNITIES, OR UTILIZING U.S. COMMUNITIES
GOVERNMENT PURCHASING ALLIANCE CONTRACT #RQ06-814063-10A, FOR
HOMELAND SECURITY EQUIPMENT, PUBLIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND
RELATED SERVICES, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, FORA TOTAL
CONTRACT AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $400,000, WITH ALL PURCHASES BEING
SUBJECT TO BUDGETARY APPROVAL ONLY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0256, adopted April 27, 2006, the City Commission
authorized the procurement of Homeland Security Equipment, Public Safety Equipment and Related
Services, and Computers (Brand Name), Peripherals, Software, and Related Services from U.S.
Communities Government Purchasing Alliance Contracts Nos. RQ06-814063-10A and RQ03-605674-
16A respectively, throughout the contractual terms of those contracts, subject to budgetary approval
only; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution further allowed for piggybacks of other and future U.S. Communities
Contracts without any further City Commission authorization upon determination by the Chief
Procurement Officer that said piggybacks are in compliance with Section 18-111 of the Procurement
Code and all purchases subject to budgetary approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission gave a directive to the Administration that all purchases are
authorized utilizing said contracts, except for the purchase and installation of the Overt Closed Circuit
Television ("CCTV") Cameras; and
WHEREAS, said purchase will require a public hearing, discussion, and an approval by the Miami
City Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. After an advertised public hearing on this day, whereby the general public was given
the opportunity to voice their concerns and a formal public discussion took place, as required by the
City Commission, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0256, adopted April 27, 2006, the purchase and
installation of CCTV cameras at publicly disclosed locations, utilizing U.S. Government Purchasing
Alliance Contract #RQ03-605674-16A, for Computers (Brand Name), Peripherals, Software, and
Related Services (Technology Products), effective through, April 30, 2006, with the option to renew
for three (3) additional one-year periods, subject to any extensions and/or replacement contracts by
U.S. Communities, or utilizing U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance Contract #RQ06-
814063-10A, for Homeland Security Equipment, Public Safety Equipment and Related Services, for
the Department of Police, for a total contract amount not to exceed $400,000, is authorized, with all
purchases being subject to budgetary approval only.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}
